I’ve just come home from 10 days in Banff, I love it, even though there was not as much snow this season as promised.
The best kept secret is that all the local resorts, Lake Louise, Sunshine & Norquay have free guides who will take you out around the mountain and show you the best bit .. for free!they wont even take a tip. The lift passes are a bit expensive, ski school is very cheap and good. Its a long flight but worth it. Stay at the “Caribou lodge” rent your gear at “Ultimate” visit the Fairmont at Banff Springs and Lake Louise. If your a group rent a car its cheap. Big downside is that although there are lots of bars and Canadians are very friendly … you cant sit in a bar without having several television sets beaming hockey highlights at you so there is no conversation outside the hot tub.
